Auch die AfD macht Europawahlkampf – aber eher gegen die EU. Die Alternative für Deutschland möchte das Europaparlament “abschaffen”. Doch dafür müsste das europäische Primärrecht geändert werden. Die Kompetenzen hierfür haben aber nur die Mitgliedsstaaten selbst. Deshalb lässt sich diese Forderung schlicht nicht auf europäischer Ebene umsetzen.
