Polis kocht: The Kurdistan Region – In the Midst of Challenges, Opportunities and an Upcoming Election
`***DISCLAIMER: Dieses Event wird in englischer Sprache stattfinden***
Two weeks ahead of the Turkish Election, our beloved event series “Polis kocht!” wants to shed some light on the Middle Eastern region of Kurdistan. With many Kurds living in the Kurdish regions of Turkey, Iraq, Iran, and Syria, the outcomes of this election may likely reach beyond the Turkish borders and affect an entire region.
To understand the current political situation of the Kurds, the challenges and opportunities of the region in general, and to look closer into German foreign policy towards the region, “Polis kocht!” will host the two journalists Sham Jaff and Kamal Chomani.
Sham Jaff is a Kurdish journalist and author of the weekly newsletter “What Happened Last Week”.
Kamal Chomani is known as a Kurdish political analyst and Non-Resident Fellow at the Tahrir Institute and covers Kurdish politics in Iraq, Iran, Syria and Turkey for leading impartial Kurdish media outlets.
Together with our two experts, we will meet on April 29 in the rooms of Berlin Global Village in Neukölln in order to prepare a delicious Kurdish breakfast, which we will enjoy while our discussion takes place. The event will be moderated by a member of Polis180 and is designed to welcome people with previous experience as well as those with no prior knowledge about the topic. We’re looking forward to having you join us!
