Contesting the Regime: Protest and Civil Resistance in Serbia and Georgia
Panel Discussion: Protest and Persistence in Serbia and Georgia
In late 2024, mass protests erupted in both Serbia and Georgia. For nearly a year, citizens have taken to the streets to demand accountability, democracy, and a European future. Despite repression, disinformation, and political fatigue, these movements have endured—raising urgent questions about resilience, regime strategies, and international solidarity.
This panel brings together experts and activists to discuss:
-
What sustains long-term protest movements—and when does fatigue set in?
-
How do Serbia and Georgia’s regimes respond to sustained dissent?
-
What role does the European Union play in supporting democratic struggles?
Join us for an evening of discussion at the intersection of activism, research, and European politics!
