The Writer, professor and interdisciplinary artist activates and produces decolonized knowledge by weaving relationships between gender, race and class. Kilomba’s oeuvre consists of different formats and registers, such as publications, staged readings, lecture performances, video installations and theoretical texts, creating a hybrid space between academic knowledge and artistic practice. Her discussion about these topics with Polis180 members Alexandra Embiricos and Sylvia Wittmer is accompanied by the art-installation called “Desire Project” which she presented at the 32nd Bienal in Sao Paolo.</p>

Er ist seit 1998 Lehrstuhlinhaber für Soziologie an der Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU). Im Anschluss diskutiert sie mit den Polis-Mitgliedern Natalie Welfens und Manuel Liebig. </p>

			<p>In der Vortragsreihe Diskurse hat heute der Politikwissenschaftler Prof. Dr. Claus Leggewie das Wort. Er ist Direktor des Kulturwissenschaftlichen Instituts (KWI) in Essen. Mit ihm diskutieren die Polis-Mitglieder Kassandra Becker und Christoph Abels. Leggewie’s Vortrag handelt von den Anti-Europäer oder den langen Wellen des Anti- sowie des Autoritarismus. Stimmen unterschiedlichster Provenienz, die Europa attackieren und europäische Werte infrage stellen, mehren sich: Identitäre wie der Massenmörder Anders Breivik, Dschihadisten wie der Syrer Abu Musab al-Suri, »Eurasier« wie der Putin-Berater Alexander Dugin, aber auch einige Linkspopulisten am Rande von Syriza und Podemos. Claus Leggewie analysiert woher diese “neuen Feinde” kommen und welche Pläne sie zur Destruktion der europäischen Idee verfolgen. Eine Aufforderung, sich endlich politisch mit ihnen auseinanderzusetzen. Mit ihm diskutieren die Polis-Mitglieder Kassandra Becker und Christoph Abels.</p>

In her speech she analyses the connection between cosmopolitanism, post-colonialism and how Europe’s attitude towards its colonial past will affect it’s future. After her talk she will discuss with the young researchers from the thinktank Polis180 Alexandra Embiricos and Natalie Welfens.</p>
