PRESIDENTS & BOARD

The board of Polis180 is elected by the general assembly for a period of one year. The last general meeting took place on July 9, 2022, at which the new board was elected.
It is composed of two presidents, a treasurer and up to twelve other members. The executive board conducts business in accordance with the articles of association and the resolutions of the general assembly. It takes its decisions with a simple majority.
PRESIDENTS & FINANCE

ANNA-LOREEN MONDORF
Human Resources & Public Affairs
As President of Polis180, Anna is responsible for the Human Resources department and in charge of the parliamentary network of Polis180. By expanding the outreach of young perspectives on transnational issues, she aims at strengthening the European dialogue across country and party lines.
Anna studied Economic Policy, concentrating on energy policy, at universities in Berlin, Paris, and Leuven. Having worked in various political institutions at the federal and EU level, she is now doing her second master’s degree in European Studies at the College of Europe in Warsaw.

ETIENNE HÖRA
Legal Affairs & Publications
Etienne is President of Polis180. He is responsible for the think tank’s legal affairs as well as institutional questions. In this capacity, he keeps an eye on the organisation’s strategic development to help make young voices heard in foreign and European affairs. Etienne also oversees Polis180’s publications – Polis Papers, Briefs and the academic journal PolisReflects.
After academic and professional stays in Freiburg, Aix-en-Provence, Brussels, Paris and Geneva, Etienne currently studies for a Master’s in International Affairs in Berlin, with a focus on trade policy. He is interested in the intersection of EU trade policy and EU external action, particularly with regards to China and the ASEAN states.

LISA MARIE RUMPF
Finance & Administration
Lisa is Head of Finance & Administration. She wants to improve Polis180’s administrative structures and enhance their transparency, so members can fully focus on their own creative work.
Lisa holds a B.A. in American Studies and Political Science and is currently studying for an M.A. at the JFK-Institute (Freie Universität Berlin). She is also working for the journal of a Berlin based think tank and practices sports on water or rocks – but most importantly in nature.

ANNE FLOTHO-LIERSCH
Community Management & Human Resources
Anne is a member of the executive board and responsible for Community Management as well as human resources with the goal of supporting professional development and, above all, integrating new members and strengthening exchange in digital and physical settings.
Anne is interested in political narratives and education as well as democratic backsliding. After studying in Maastricht, Vienna and Wrocław and working for the Foreign Office and a think tank, she now works full-time for a European youth network on climate and energy policy.

DUSTIN FÜRST
IT & Publications
Dustin is member of the executive board and responsible for data protection and part of our publications team. Working with Polis180 since 2019, he became interim President in 2022. His main research interest is MENA politics.
Holding degrees from the university of Marburg und SOAS (London), he worked in foreign trade promotion in Saudi Arabia, Brussels, Iran, and Germany. Currently, he is a project manager and consultant on cybersecurity, is gathering his first experience in entrepreneurship and volunteers with the development aid organization GafCA e.V. with focus on Afghanistan.

TINA BAYER
Diversity & Podcasts
Tina is working on a diversity strategy for Polis180 in the executive board to make the think tank more inclusive and is the contact person for all questions, criticism and requests regarding diversity. She also co-chairs the podcasts and multimedia department together with Kira. At Polis, she is primarily active in the Gender and International Politics program.
Tina studied Public and Non-Profit Management in Berlin and Fortaleza and holds a Master in Political Science with a focus on Foreign Policy and International Relations from Jena and Lille.

LUKAS HOCHSCHEIDT
Legal Affairs
Lukas helps Etienne with all things legal at Polis180. He has been engaged with the think-tank since January 2019, working in several positions such as member of the ‘European identity’ program, team lead of the Polis180-podcast ‘Brüsseler Bahnhof’, and – since 2020 – member of the board. From 2021 to early 2022, he served as President of Polis180.
Having studied in Nancy (France), Berlin and Paris, Lukas holds an M.A. in political and social sciences. Since late 2021, he has been working as a policy advisor at the German Bundestag, focusing on foreign cultural and educational policy as well as sports policy.

NILA SARABI
Social Media & Diversity
Nila is a member of the executive board and responsible for social media. Her aim is to further the interaction of members and stakeholders within the digital community and make the different programs of Polis180 more visible. Additionally, she supports Tina in the development of a diversity strategy.
She studied journalism and communication sciences as well as political science and is currently a project manager at a think tank, focusing on challenges and future issues of democracy.

DAVID WEYL
Program Coordination & Public Affairs
David is member of the executive board and responsible for fundraising, program coordination and our international network. He aims to strengthen the cooperation between Polis180’s programs and the Open Think Tank Network, and manages the creation of our supporters’ network “180 Freund*innen”. He is an active member of the program “connectingAsia”.
David has studied in Maastricht and Berlin.

KIRA SCHRÖDEL
OpenTTN & Podcasts
Kira is member of the executive board and represents Polis180 on the Board of Directors of the Open Think Tank Network – a 2021 established international network of grassroots think tanks. She wants to foster the dialogue between Polis180 and its European partner think tanks, and contribute to new cooperation projects. As co-host of the Polis180 podcast „Brüsseler Bahnhof“ she is also involved in the development of new podcasts and multimedia projects, and supports the public relations team.
Kira is currently studying for an M.A. in International Affairs in Berlin and Washington D.C..

JONAS NITSCHKE
Fundraising & Public Affairs
Jonas is responsible for fundraising and public affairs in the executive board. Together with David and Anna, he aims to achieve a stronger public perception of the diverse work of the individual program areas at Polis in other European countries and in cooperation with external actors. Jonas has been co-lead of the program connectingAsia, where he co-organized the Young Indo-Pacific Forum 2021 with other youth-led think tanks.
He studied International Relations and Political Science in Kleve and Vienna and is currently working as a Climate Pact Ambassador for more youth participation at the Youth Task Force of the European Climate Pact in Brussels. His focus besides European climate policy is primarily the exchange with young people from Europe and Asia.
